Why should we assess attention?

Attention is closely associated with the ability to learn and academic attainment. Each of the different types of attention have important role in learning. Studies have found:

Attention at the age of 4 years predicts maths and reading ability at the age of 21 years and the odds of completing college by age 25 years.

If left untreated, childhood attention issues can have life-long consequences and later in childhood, they may be suffering from:

Anxiety, depression, impulsive aggressive outbursts, substance addiction, delinquency, and increased difficulty in developing new skills.
