How in-depth do the SWAN answers need to be?

Very in-depth. A carer’s rating of a child shouldn’t change in a matter of hours or days. It should be based on how the child has behaved in the past 2-3 weeks. If they think that their child is “below average” for example in “Staying seated (when required)”, this rating should be based on their in-depth understanding of their child’s behaviour and their knowledge of the same behaviour in other children of the same age and gender and even culture.
